David V. Politano

Head of Debt Strategies

David V. Politano is head of debt strategies for MetLife Investment Management’s (MIM) Real Estate Group. In this capacity, David is responsible for leading MIM’s debt platform which invests on behalf of the MetLife Affiliated Insurance Companies as well as third-party investors, including public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and insurance companies.  David also serves as Head of the Debt Investment Committee.  

David joined MetLife in 1994 as part of the commercial real estate lending team in the northeast region specializing in loan originations, workouts and restructures. In 2002, he assumed responsibility for the Northeast Region managing debt and equity investments. In 2010, with MetLife’s acquisition of AIG’s international business, David assumed oversight of MetLife’s International real estate platform which included investments in London, Mexico, Japan, Australia, Korea and Chile. In 2012, he assumed responsibility for the Real Estate Capital Markets team, which specializes in providing revolving credit facilities for real estate debt providers. Prior to joining MetLife David worked in commercial banking where his responsibilities included commercial real estate lending, workouts and restructurings. David has 35 years of global real estate experience.

David holds a BBA in Operations Management from Pace University, and MS in Real Estate Finance from NYU.
