David V. Politano
Head of International, Northeast and Capital Markets Group - Real Estate
David V. Politano is head of the international, northeast and capital markets group. In this capacity he oversees asset management of the investment portfolio for each area, as well as the origination operations for them. Politano is an investment committee member for all international real estate investments.
Politano joined MetLife in 1994 as part of the real estate lending team in the northeast region specializing in loan originations, workouts and restructures. In 2002, he assumed responsibility for the northeast region, which now includes a team of 14 real estate professionals managing $15 billion in debt and equity investments. In 2010, with MetLife’s acquisition of AIG’s international business, Politano assumed oversight of MetLife’s international real estate platform which includes investments totaling $12 billion in London, Mexico, Japan, Australia, Korea and Chile. In 2012, Politano assumed responsibility for the real estate capital markets team, which specializes in providing revolving credit facilities for real estate debt providers and has a portfolio of $4 billion. From 1988 to 1994 Politano worked in commercial banking where his responsibilities included commercial real estate lending, workouts and restructurings.
He is currently on the Board of the Grand Central Partnership for MIM. In addition, he represented MIM on the Board of Governors for the Real Estate Board of New York and was a member of RELA and the MBA. Politano holds a bachelor’s degree from Pace University and a master’s degree from New York University.
