Head of Operations and Client Services
Robert Serafin is head of MetLife Investment Management's (MIM) operations & client services. Serafin joined MetLife in 2014 and is responsible for global middle office, pricing, operations risk, client service, and service provider management.
Prior to joining MetLife, Serafin spent 20 years at Morgan Stanley managing a broad set of operations teams within investment management. As executive director, he was responsible for global investor services across fixed income, real estate, and equity strategies valued at more than $150 billion. His responsibilities included head of U.S. fixed income portfolio support, distribution and client management, middle office, and oversight of the largest service providers of Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Serafin was also global head of liquidity operations, which encompassed $100 billion in assets. His responsibilities included trade execution and settlement, asset and cash reconciliation, institutional client service, and client reporting. Prior to that, Serafin was vice president and head of U.S. transfer agency operations for the Morgan Stanley Retail and Institutional Funds, and Van Kampen Funds.
Serafin holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and an MBA from St. Peter’s University.
