MIM Chief Risk Officer

Claudia Cromie  is the Chief Risk Officer of MIM. Claudia is responsible for monitoring, assessing and advising on fiduciary, non-financial and financial risks of MetLife Investment Management (MIM) and overseeing portfolio positioning against investment views and strategies. She assumed this position in 2022. 

Claudia joined MetLife in 1990 as a credit analyst and has held a variety of investment positions, primarily in corporate credit analysis. She was a founding member of MetLife’s London Investments office from 1993 to 1996. Following her relocation back to the United States, she served as chief of staff to the chief investment officer. Cromie subsequently worked in a number of areas, including private placements, private equity, public high yield and leveraged finance. She was a credit strategist from 2011-2016, ran credit research until 2018 and was the head of Portfolio and Risk Analytics until she assumed her current responsibilities. 

Claudia received her undergraduate degree in economics from Trinity College and holds an MBA in finance and international business with honors from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a CFA® charterholder.
