Guy Haselmann is Head of Thought Leadership at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). In this role he is responsible for developing, managing and setting standards for MIM’s thought leadership content. His objective is to provide relevant, differentiated and value-added investment insights for clients, prospects and consultants that further showcase MIM’s investment capabilities across asset classes. Guy likes to say that his goal is “the promise of an interesting conversation”.

Guy has over 25 years of experience in investment management, including positions as head of macro strategy at Scotiabank and global strategist and proprietary trader for Barclays Capital. He was co-CIO of Capra Asset Management and worked as a portfolio manager for Moore Capital Management in both their NY and Paris offices. Guy began his career in rotational program of Lehman Brothers before settling onto their Treasury trading desk before moving to the CBOT bond option pit in Chicago. Immediately prior to joining MIM, Guy was founder and managing principal of FETI Group which invented and develop different scoring methodologies to evaluate ESG, cybersecurity readiness, human rights, and equality variables used as investment criteria. From 2010 to 2018, he served on the NJ State Investment Council, which oversees the states $90 billion public pension.

Guy received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago with a specialization in finance and concentration in statistics. In 2009, he earned his CAIA designation.
