James Kang

Senior Director, Insurance Asset Management

James Kang is a senior director within the Insurance Asset Management group at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). He is responsible for providing tailored insurance solutions and advisory services to MIM’s clients. He is experienced in strategic asset allocation and asset liability management, with a focus on aligning investment strategies with the unique objectives and constraints of insurance products and business lines.

James joined MIM in 2012. Prior to his current role, he led the modeling of MetLife’s general account investment portfolios for U.S. statutory cash flow testing and played a key role in setting the company’s investment assumptions and ALM strategies. Prior to joining MetLife, James worked at Milliman, specializing in employee benefits consulting.

James holds a B.A. in mathematics from Cornell University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
