Roland Blumberg

Senior Portfolio Manager, Insurance Asset Management

Roland Blumberg is a managing director and senior portfolio manager within the Insurance Asset Management group at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). He oversees U.S. dollar-denominated portfolios managed for MetLife’s U.S. insurance entities and U.S. dollar-denominated portfolios managed on behalf of MetLife’s International affiliates and unaffiliated clients across Japan, Korea, the Middle East and Bermuda regulatory regimes.

Roland is responsible for managing the strategic asset allocation for MetLife affiliates U.S. dollar-denominated mandates including tactical decisions around relative value, managing ALM, duration, curve, FX and volatility exposures.

Roland joined MetLife in 1999. Prior to his current position he was a senior director in the Global Portfolio Strategies team. He also worked on the Private Equity team and he was a portfolio manager and head trader for the Quantitative Equity Strategies team.

Roland holds an MBA in finance from Cornell University and a B.A. in economics and political science from Amherst College. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
