Institutional Client Group, Global Head of Insurance, Banking and Real Estate

Thomas Metzler is global head of insurance, banking, and real estate for MetLife Investment Management’s (MIM) institutional client group. In this capacity, Tom is responsible for the strategy, relationship management and business development of insurance companies and banks globally. He is also the senior relationship manager responsible for the business development and client relationship management of real estate assets, both equity and debt. He works primarily with consultants, pensions, endowment & foundations, and sovereign wealth funds in this capacity.

Prior to his current role Tom was responsible for business development and client relationship management of MIM’s private business, including private fixed income clients in addition to real estate. Before joining MIM in July 2016, Tom was at J.P. Morgan Asset Management for 21 years working across several lines of business. Most recently he served as head of the America’s corporate sales team for J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s global liquidity business. Tom and his team were responsible for advising on and delivering investment solutions to multinational corporations and public entities for their operating assets. Prior to that role, he was working with institutions and individuals within J.P. Morgan’s debt capital markets and private bank businesses.

Tom holds an MBA in finance from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Rutgers University. He is licensed with FINRA.
